Part A: Bamboo Stick Method
1. Introduction to Bamboo Stick Method

Bamboo Stick Method was one of the prominent “knocking methods” in Agarwood industries. Although there are various traditional knocking methods practiced by agarwood farmers, the Bamboo Stick Method with the specific formulation was introduced by a prominent agarwood player; Mr. Witsawa*, Thailand. His Bamboo Stick Method is widely used in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia and other Southeast Asia countries. The Bamboo Stick Method proved to be effective in stimulating the formation of agarwood resin in approximately 2-3-year period after inducement/inoculation process.

Pengenalan kepada kaedah Bamboo Stick

Kaedah Bamboo Stick adalah salah satu daripada "kaedah mengetuk-knocking methods" terkemuka dalam industri gaharu. Walaupun terdapat pelbagai kaedah knocking methods tradisional yang diamalkan oleh petani gaharu tradisional, Kaedah Bamboo Stick dengan formulasi khusus telah diperkenalkan oleh pemain gaharu terkemuka; Encik Witsawa, Thailand. Kaedah Bamboo Stick beliau digunakan secara meluas di Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Kemboja dan lain-lain negara-negara Asia Tenggara. Kaedah Bamboo Stick ini telah terbukti berkesan dalam merangsang pembentukan resin gaharu dalam tempoh kurang lebih 2-3-tahun selepas proses dorongan (inducement) / inokulasi.

Part B: Direct Injection Method With GAS Liquid Inducer
1. It is a method where the specific amount of liquid inducer will be injected into the drilled holes. The roles of the liquid inducer are of twofold, these are to induce stress (based on its organic compound and fungus) and promote recovery reaction for resin formation.
 2. The positive effects of the inducer can be observed from its flow, the development of oil ring around the drilled holes, its ability to attract fungus and ants, its ability to promote the growth of news shoots or green leaves. 

 3. One important consideration is to make sure that the drilled holes will not be penetrated by rain water. This is because the rain water is potential to contribute to the decay of the agarwood tree.
 4. Although this method may produce agarwood chip which is suitable for oil distillation, the main purpose is for the production of agarwood chips which is close to the natural agarwood chip. This is one of the main advantages of this technique.
